What this website and Glen, our club fitter, keep, why, and for how long. Last updated 24 September 2026.
Who we are
Gimme Marketplace Ltd, company number 16205829, registered office 83 to 89 High Street, Marlow SL7 1AB. We run the Gimme app and this website. Write to us any time at contact@gimmemarket.com.
What we store
Glen chats, anonymously
When you chat with Glen we keep a log of the conversation: your messages, Glen's replies, the golf details you gave (hand, level, age band, 7 iron distance), the clubs shown and any "Not right?" feedback. Each chat gets a random id that identifies nothing but the chat. Before anything is saved, email addresses, phone numbers, postcodes and web addresses are taken out of the text. We never store your IP address, your device or browser details, or any cookies with it.
Chat logs are kept for 90 days, then deleted.
Your browser keeps the chat itself for the current tab only, so it is still there if you move between pages. It is cleared when you close the tab, or when you tap Start again.
Stock alerts
If Glen finds nothing that fits and you tap "Let me know when one comes in", we keep the email address you give us, the club spec from your fitting (for example a left handed 54° wedge in Stiff steel) and the chat id.
We keep it until we have emailed you about a club like that, or for 12 months, whichever comes first, then delete it.
Why
Chat logs help us make Glen's fitting better and keep it working properly. Alert emails are used for one thing only: to tell you when a club like the one you asked for lands on Gimme. We will not add you to marketing emails because you asked for an alert.
Who else sees it
We never sell your data. Two services handle it for us, under contract: Netlify hosts the website and stores the logs and alerts, and Anthropic processes your chat messages so Glen can reply. Neither may use it for anything else.
Your choices
To see what we hold about you, or to have an alert or anything else deleted, email contact@gimmemarket.com. For an alert, tell us the email address you used. Because chat logs are anonymous we can only find one if you can tell us roughly when you chatted and what about.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Buying, selling and your account in the Gimme app are covered by the app's own terms and privacy policy.
